Mertes & Mertes Announces Winners of Sauk Valley Student Art Competition
The Law Firm of Mertes & Mertes, P.C. is honored to have sponsored the Sauk Valley Student Art Competition. Thirteen schools entered the competition, comprised of the following: East Coloma/Nelson, Franklin Elementary, Morrison Northside School, Morrison Southside School, Morrison Junior High School, Morrison High School, Newman Central Catholic High School, Polo Centennial Elementary, Polo Middle School, Polo High School, Reagan Middle School, St. Andrews, and Washington Elementary. In total, eighty-seven works of art were submitted. The works were divided and judged in three separate grade divisions: Division I (K-5), Division II (6-8), and Division III (9-12). With the tremendous assistance, knowledge, talent and support of Mr. Ned Nesti and Mrs. Jane Ann Ardapple, the Law Firm of Mertes & Mertes, P.C. announces the following winners in each division:
Division I (K-5):
First Place: Chloe E. Bielema (Morrison Southside);
Second Place: Baisey M. Walker (East Coloma/Nelson);
Third Place: Chloe A. Austin-Roeder (Morrison Southside);
Honorable Mention: Kaya A. Nelson (Washington Elementary).
Division II (6-8):
First Place: Molly P. Neumann (Morrison Junior High);
Second Place: Derian E. Duncan (Reagan Middle School);
Third Place: Kelly S. Pannier (Morrison Junior High);
Honorable Mention: Patricia M. Plachno (Polo Middle School)
Division III (9-12):
First Place: Joseph P. Stapleton, III (Polo High School);
Second Place: James Colvin (Morrison High School);
Third Place: Grace Bird (Morrison High School);
Honorable Mention: Peyton L. Taylor (Polo High School).
Congratulations to all of the winners. The artwork submitted by all was truly outstanding, and all entrants are to be commended for their exceptional talent. Please remember that our open house reception honoring the winners and entrants will be held at the Law Firm of Mertes & Mertes, P.C., 4015 East Lincolnway, Suite D, Sterling, Illinois, will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2014. All entrants, their parents and family members, teachers, and principals are invited and encouraged to attend the reception. Beverages and light snacks will be served, and all winning art work will be displayed for viewing.
