Cristie Buskohl possesses an intense passion for the law. A graduate of the prestigious Illinois Wesleyan University, Cristie joins Attorney Magen Mertes as the second Illinois Wesleyan alum at the firm. Following her graduation from Illinois Wesleyan University, Cristie obtained her advanced paralegal certification from Illinois Central College.
Before joining Mertes & Mertes, P.C., Cristie was employed as a paralegal in Bloomington, Illinois, concentrating primarily on litigation assistance in medical negligence cases. There, she developed a keen understanding of the complexities of litigation, and of the importance of attention to detail in her work. “I had the advantage of working with and learning from some great attorneys in Bloomington,” she remarked.
”I’m very excited about joining the team at Mertes & Mertes, P.C.,” Buskohl said. ”Everyone here is very passionate about the work we do,” she added.
Buskohl believes that a team approach greatly enhances the service to the client. “The attorneys and support staff here work together on everything. Everyone’s opinion is valued. The more input we have on a case; the better we can represent our clients,” she explained.
Buskohl grew up in Polo, Illinois and has family ties to Polo and Dixon. “Family is very important to me. I understand the struggles that families go through and I am excited to join a team that helps families and people on a daily basis,” she said.
Buskohl is married to Justin Buskohl of Polo, Illinois. They have one son and are expecting another in April.
